While politics is about to upset everyone equally. As listadmin you have to have a feeling what the current mood on the mailinglists is, what people want and how much abuse they can stand. You try to talk to some who seem like good indicators of the situation and others who seem to have a big influence on others, with the goal of understanding what's going on and being able to calm things if necessary. At times you wield Thors hammer to scare everyone until they behave as you think is best for the mailinglist. Attila Kinali -- The trouble with you, Shev, is you don't say anything until you've saved up a whole truckload of damned heavy brick arguments and then you dump them all out and never look at the bleeding body mangled beneath the heap -- Tirin, The Dispossessed, U.
