What I did was download all distros listed for multimedia on distrowatch.com and that's the one I liked best. Before that I had never heard of it. You can't imagine how often I had to fight with pulse and jack on UbuStu. AVLin just has alsa and jack - nice. I find the plugins are working better in Ardour also. Plus it uses LXDE, so no greedy GUI trying to muscle in. He has customised LXDE a bit, so its better than the plain version you get with Debian. nigel
