Something like this should do, but you get bionic instead of libc.
Also compiling autoconf, etc. apps is far from trivial.

Big screen, movies, games, books, etc. Android was created for phones and
tablet support was cobbled together to compete with the iPad. It is pretty
decent nowadays though.

Linux GUIs are a mess :) X is for distributed computing, etc. Canonical is
reportedly working on something for their next 'phablet' Ubuntu version,
which might change things a bit.

One of the reasons Android is taking off on all sorts of devices is the
standardized GUI toolkit + tools. Linux never got that right. And probably
never will, even Miguel de Icaza uses a Mac nowadays :)
