There is also https://www.bountysource.com/ which bills itself as
Kickstarter or Indiegogo for Open Source. In addition to the
traditional "bounty" to encourage feature development, there are also
fundraiser projects. It obviously doesn't bring the same level of
exposure... but I'm in the camp that believes most of the "donors" come
from people that already know the project and/or developer(s).
