Going even further off topic, the BBC series "Tales from the Wild Wood"
was a superb series, if you are interested in woodland. In one episode
he makes charcoal using that process... well, no, a later version, 'cos
if I remember he used a huge metal ring.
His market was barbeque connoisseurs.
