Every once in a while, I go through the same process on Ubuntu 13.04 but I always end up forgetting what it is I do. Things have gotten easier recently and I think if I install the "ibus", "ibus-anthy", and "ibus-gtk3" packages and all its dependencies, then most of it is done. I then would have to start up ibus. I can't remember what I did, but what it says here looks familiar: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ibus I *think* that was it. Sorry, I don't know how different this would be for Kubuntu... Hope this helps! Ray
