I talked about most of these topics in my "Debian on the Desktop"
presentation in June 2013 [1].  An interactive "InstallFest" where
everybody does it themselves in a VM would be much more effective!  That
would require more time than the usual TLUG presentation, however, and I
am somewhat pessimistic about participation...  Would a significant number
of TLUG members be willing to bring a laptop and participate (not just
listen/watch)?
