The shell parser splits the command line at blank characters and interprets
  /path/to/foo bar/baz
as two strings. You can merge them as a a single string either with quotes
  "/path/to/foo bar/baz"
or a backslash escape
  /path/to/foo\ bar/baz
to ensure you shell sees only one string here.
