But I cannot make it work.
Ctrl+Alt+F1 => I get the console
"sudo adduser xxx => I am asked for a password.
However, neither anything entered as a NEW password, nor the prior
password is accepted.Ooops. If your usual user is the same as the one you created at Mint install, the password should be the same.What I can see:- you have different users- you login without password (not sure how it works with "sudo", I never did these kind of insecure setups). Maybe just <return> works in that case ?- your keyboard is not recognized the same way on console and graphical interface. This happens sometimes, and can be difficult (ex: azerty vs qwerty etc...).No other clue, sorry.br.When I press enter, there is something about starting a virtual machine
(VM Player, but at 4 am I am too tired to write all that down ...)Do you mean it tries to start something while you are in text mode, or graphical one ?
Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del WILL logout and restart the computer - which it
did not on the black screen.
"SOMETIMES" - not always - I get in the upper left corner "Applications
/ Places".
But going in there in an attempt at creating a new user, or changing the
language etc., produces just a flicker of the screen.Well. I don't like the "sometimes" word.br.
--2 + 2 = 5, for very large values of 2.
