The two big issues I've had with ibus were its default, which I missed at
first, which changed ct+space to super+space.  All in all, that's not a big
deal especially since there is a setup with options to change it, but one
of those Linux let's fix what isnt' broken. There's a Yiddish word for that

For me, the issue that I've found in various systems is that it no longer
seems to recognize keyboard shortcuts.  In various distributions, I've been
able to use a little script, or used a taskbar.  However, it just became a
nuisance and FCITX wasn't a nuisance.

Well, out of what I played with they are all still using ibus as
default, and it probably works quite well with Gnome, which has integrated
it to the the point of, at least with Fedora, if you remove ibus you break
Gnome. However, I don't use Gnome.

For awhile there, it was trivial, not sure when they broke it again.
