Is there maybe a slick way to either replace the English language pack, or else add Japanese to that folder? Most likely I cannot write into the DVD.Can you use Windows Update from the Start menu to select and install additional language packs from the DVD? How about from the Windows Update website?I usually use a WIN JPN DVD to install WIN in a VM and, until WIN 10 (which has begun ignoring my language selections and installing ENG desktop in concert with JPN support ... and works [!]), I always got a JPN desktop that had to be changed over to ENG. I agree that installing ENG and then adding JPN causes a lot of mojibake problems where installing JPN and then installing and switching desktop language to ENG solves all of them.CL
