Well, it is true that buying a multimeter[1] would add 9% to that
cost. (Yes, that multimeter really is ¥79.)

Ah, that makes a huge difference. Lenovo tends to use fairly
standardized PSUs and also has reasonably good protection on their
business-level machines. If your current PSU craps out you can
probably replace it with any standard Lenovo 19 V 65 W PSU you find in
Akihabara.

It should actually even make a decent desktop machine or server, given
an SSD and 8 GB RAM. That i5-3470T is even a bit faster than the small
form factor i5 systems we were discussing last week here, and more
than twice as fast as my daily use desktop system. The only issue may
be that the max resolution is 2560x1600, though at least it will go
dual monitor, or even triple if you have the model with two
DisplayPort ports.
