Some of these settings are stored in the various .* files (and directories) in one's home directory. This is perhaps true for PDF viewers and maybe KDE-based text editors. But I don't know about media players. I actually rsync my files between computers (i.e., work and home) and I could never figure out what files I should sync and which I should not. For example, I'd like the option to sync the "last opened PDF file and page" since I can continue reading on another computer. But if there are display settings that are specific to a computer, I don't want that sync'ed. I find myself repeatedly tweaking my rsync exclusion list because of this... Of course, one can just put the files into Syncthing / Dropbox and add a symbolic link from the home directory to these files to have them automatically sync (provided it's the same application on the computer and mobile device... Sometimes, standards would help... :-) ). Ray
