I'm not using XFCE. I'm using Metacity (confirmed by "wmctrl -m").

I'm guessing it's notify-send that's the vehicle for the popups, and it
doesn't seem to have a logging capability.

Anyway the popups haven't appeared since I disabled desktop
notification in FB's settings, so I'm guessing they planted something
in Firefox.
