Tk and Tcl are pretty slow. I know this issue has been argued about again and again, but I think Java has much more potential. I've read that in the future the Java applications should run as fast as a C++ compiled application. How is this possible? The only Tcl Tk applications I use are: Tkman - too slow to be used most of the time zircon - great interface but it hangs if it can't access the irc server TkIned - This one is pretty good. I have no complaints IMHO Tk/Tcl applications might be more fun to build than to use. Any word on whether I can compile a java application (not applet) on Linux?
