Abe-san,
thanks for your comments.  I intend to use xjdic when I read the
web, e-mail, and news.  I can cut and paste into kterm.  I think
that your difficulty might arise from the application defaults
file of kterm.  I don't have mine set properly either which
I feel is preventing me from using kinput2.  However, I can 
cut and paste into xjdic22 and jvim.

One interesting thing you might consider since your Kanji 
ability is warrants heavy Japanese input usage.  
I read on fj.os.linux that
someone from the Fujitsu research labs was using Windows '95
FEP bridge using dosemu (DOS emulation under Linux).
