Yeah, this one is a re-write of the former Addison-Wesley Japan book under the same title (and authors). The stuff in the CD-ROM is shiny new (at the moment) with Kernel 2.0.0 and containing source up to 2.0.21. JE is 0.9.8a (which means that I have to dump my current English translation of the JE-HOWTO0.9.7). The descriptions are quite detailed and helpful to a novice like myself.
