For those of us forced to use windows NT instead of Linux,
have a look at this:

	http://www.research.att.com/sw/tools/uwin/

There is a paper about the implementation that incidently compares
linux to NT and their environment, favorably for Linux by the way.

I know there is also the GNU-WIN32 project

but I hadn't seen the att.com site till today.
