There is a set of tools (packaged as "serialmail") that handles machines with dial-up IP connectivity or uucp feeds. While I switched one machine to qmail, the other has a couple of important uucp connections that I haven't wanted to muck with. While the machine is connected to the net a few hours a day, I doubt many people have discovered how to find my dynamic IP address or will bother to use something at the end of a 28.8 modem for too much mail redirection. However, those seem to be just excuses.
