"warez" is part of the "kewl d00dz" vocabulary. It originated as
"software",
but nowadays describes any kind of information that is fit to be peddled
in
cracker circles, i.e. pirated software, smut pix, etc.

"warez d00d/dweeb/cretin" is a derogatory term for the average dumb
software pirate - usually somebody who spends so much time up- and
downloading software that he even hasn't got the time to check his
spoils.

A current practice for these people is to hack ftp servers, upload some
stuff, and then tell the "community" the address. The admins of the
hacked machines usually find out about this once their machine starts
to go down from overload in short intervals. They not only steal
software,
but they make life miserable for other people by overloading lines and
servers. That's why we have so many entertaining names to call them.

Pronounciation? Probably like "wares". I wouldn't want to be caught
saying it with anything but a derisive sneer :-)
