I don't know what Xwrapper is either, but TurboLinux 1.0 didn't do this and I kind of wish 1.2/1.4J didn't, either (hint for any developers who might be reading this :-) ). >Also, I noticed a nice configuration utility at Scott's office. >Jonathan also mentioned it. What is this utility called? Xconfigurator. Speaking of which, I put a new video card in my Linux box the other day (Diamond Viper 330. Rocks. Kind of a waste for someone who doesn't play games, maybe, but it's nice :-) ). I ran Xconfigurator, which interestingly failed to auto-detect the card, so I chose it manually from the list, set up my screen sizes and color depths, and told it I wanted it to start with a graphical log-in (i.e., bring up X automatically). Well, it's not that I really want that (I don't), but it's the only workaround I know to logging in as root to start X if it's not automatic (the above Xwrapper problem). But it's not starting X automatically even though I told it to, so I'm still stuck logging in as root to start X. How can I fix this?
