Since I didn't have much time to play with linux lately, I didn't try hard, but so far nothing has worked. However, now I'm getting similar but different error messages. I hope that's a sign of improvement. I'll try again when I got time. By the way, I'm working with xemacs 20.4. I'm getting the following error; [root@example.com xemacs]# make Producing `src/paths.h' from `src/paths.h.in'. src/paths.h is unchanged cd lib-src && make CC='gcc' CFLAGS='-g -O2 -Wall -Wno-switch -fno-strength-reduce -malign-loops=2 -malig n-jumps=2 -malign-functions=2' LDFLAGS='' CPPFLAGS='' all make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/xemacs/lib-src' gcc -g -O2 -Wall -Wno-switch -fno-strength-reduce -malign-loops=2 -malign-ju mps=2 -malign-functions=2 -Demacs -I../src -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I/usr/X11R6/inc lude /usr/src/xemacs/lib-src/movemail.c usr/src/xemacs/lib-src/pop.c -L/usr/X11R6/lib -ltermcap -lcurses -lcrypt -l m -o movemail /usr/src/xemacs/lib-src/movemail.c:73: warning: static declaration for `strerror' follows non-static /usr/src/xemacs/lib-src/movemail.c: In function `strerror': /usr/src/xemacs/lib-src/movemail.c:687: conflicting types for `sys_errlist' /usr/include/stdio.h:221: previous declaration of `sys_errlist' make[1]: *** [movemail] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/xemacs/lib-src' make: *** [lib-src] Error 2 I have a strong feeling that something is not right about the RPM package I got from JRPM site(it's somehow different from other RPMs I've got), so I'm trying to make a contact to the creator of the RPM file so that I can learn exactly how I should install the package.
