Maybe everyone but me already knows about this, but the Linux counter was mentioned in the May issue of Linux Journal (p. 94), so I thought I would put the URL up here for those who don't know about it. If you register yourself there, it will add you to the official count list and make a custom graphic for you, showing your registered Linux user number. You can save it to your disk and use it on your home page. Mine is 72,000-something, so it seems that not many people have actually registered there. Linus' current guess at the number of users is 6,000,000, according to this page. There's a big discrepancy between the number of estimated users and the number who have registered, so let's see if TLUG can't change that a little :-) Register at: http://counter.li.org/ Jonathan -------------------------------------------------------------- Next TLUG Meeting: 13 June Sat, Tokyo Station Yaesu gate 12:30 Featuring Stone and Turnbull on .rpm and .deb packages Next Nomikai: 17 July, 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 After June 13, the next meeting is 8 August at Tokyo Station -------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsor: PHT, makers of TurboLinux http://www.pht.co.jp
