The experience I speak from is of Solaris and SunOS systems, but did you try to rsh; xhost +MyPC; then setenv DISPLAY MyPC:0.0 ? This always worked. Got to remember that the cray wont automatically authorize you to do that if the SysAdmin has the system set up right. Run xhost +MyPC on your system and before rsh'ing xhost +Cray for good measure.
