I've heard that linux is the most widely used Unix-derivative OS in the
world right now... After having used some commercial Unixes, I can see
why... you could argue that linux is the best Unix, free or otherwise.

I would also argue that the UI diversity is one of the neat things about
linux.  I can make Linux look like whatever *I* want it to, not what some
moron with a keyboard in one hand and a style guide in the other thinks it
should look like.  But, arguably, there are people who DO want everything
to look the same... Oh well, at least I can figure that almost everyone
that's using TurboLinux will also be using TurboDesk.. at least, it seems
that way, I don't see tech support questions on any other window managers.
(yeah, I hear you, smart a**es of the world :) )...
