Postgresql is also installed on the server.  I think MySQL might be
faster, but I'm not sure.  We use Empress, which is also a SQL database,
but it's commercial, multithreaded, and dang fast :)

We do everything with database stuff on the web through Perl cgi
scripts.  Embedded SQL inside HTML is really more trouble than it's worth,
IMHO.  Both MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Empress have good perl interfaces.

Feel free to ask me any SQL related questions.  I'm not only the head
developer for TL and PHT's sysadmin, but I'm also our head Database
administrator as well :)
