I wonder if you use 2.1.10* kernels. I also use ASUS SP97-XV. Recent kernels cause a problem with this board. One board can't boot up. The other board boots up, but it freezes when I start X. I comment out pcibios_fix routines in arch/i386/kernel/bios32.c, then it works fine at several kernels. Does somebody have information relating to SP97-XV and 2.1.10* kernels?
