Indeed, these drives were merely transplanted from an SS1+ to an SS2. Everything worked in the 1+, but it seems that the 2 has a different SCSI controller, one that is affected by the SCSI controller bug in RH 5.1. A replacement kernel, as prescribed by Chris, should fix me right up. I also have a disk with SunOS on it that I can swap in. If that boots, then I know for sure Red Hat is the guilty party :-) Cheers, Jonathan Byrne Media and Content Section 3Web - Your Internet Solution! <URL:http://www.threeweb.ad.jp/index.en.html> 3Web Channel <URL: http://www.3web.co.jp/> -------------------------------------------------------------- Next Nomikai: 18 September, 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 Next Meeting: October, Tokyo Station Yaesu central gate 12:30 -------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsor: PHT, makers of TurboLinux http://www.pht.co.jp
