1. Run 16, 24, or 32bpp
2.  You can limit the colormap usage of xearth with a commandline option,
i think.

I think I have a few copies of that disc in the back room here :)

Basically all we have to do is draw a bunch of graphics and display them
in the right order with some kind of user interface... I think :)

We can even have it sync to network time servers and other fun stuff.
