Hey, I worked on one of those. It may have been old, but it could
waste trees at a blinding rate. There wasn't an IC in the whole
printer; all discrete transistor gates; and yes, we did repair
individual gates when they failed. One of its less redeeming qualities
was that it was not particularly friendly on the ear drums. I left the
Navy in '86, and I would not be surprised if its still there :)
