It's not a matter of their not knowing how to do it.  It's a matter of
their not wanting to do it.  They'd have to think they could make money
off of it before they would even consider it.  It may be that they think
they wouldn't.  After, the market for a Japanese word processor that is
Japanese-enabled is a fragment of the market for an English-only one, and
moreover, Applix is already present in that space with not just a word
processor but an office suite.  Corel would have to spend a lot of money
on porting it, and they probably see a real challenge in selling enough
copies to recover that investment, let alone make enough profit for it to
be worthwhile.

There's a Corel Office.  I don't know what the word processor is, but I
suppose it would be Word Perfect.  To really compete, especially with
Applix ahead of them, they'd have to port the whole thing to Linux and
then create a Japanese-enabled version.  If they don't see reasonable
profit in doing that, they never will. 

Out of curiosity, why do you want a Japanese Word Perfect for Linux?  Are
you a Word Perfect user from way back, or just don't like Applix, or . . .
