I've never said sysV myself.  Always "system five", "system five release
blah", or "that damned mutant from AT&T".

Still is.  Network interface is mostly BSD, except where it's sysV.  Most
of the programmer-visible personality switch is handled by libc (glibc
lets you do it both ways, mostly.  Scary stuff).
