The BIOS on my olde 486 at home can't see past 512Mb, so I have to install the boot-time overlays to get past that limit with DOS and Win95B1. Linux is fine, and I think Win95B2 is OK too. Since I do use a little DOS there (my wife prefers it!), I install the overlays, which means that I can't have LILO in the MBR. This is not a problem, as loadlin handles the boot fine. I have a "Boot Linux" shortcut on the Win95 desktop, with that cute little dynamite/plunger icon.
