I know a lot of Japanese people who will buy that "garbage" because they
know that it will run Linux just fine.
Not all Japanese people have unlimited budgets, although this was a common
perception in the '80s. =)

( Perhaps the difference is that of a corporate purchase vs. a private
purchase. )
