I'll try this :-) > - 90 millimetre flexible disk cartridge > - 90 millimeter laser ("hikari") disk cartridge > Would this mean a bog-standard Japan-market hard-case 1.2Meg floppy > disk in the first instance, and a 640Meg MO in the second? ...give up ;-) Ok, 90mm is almost 3.5in, I see. The later one seems to be the 3.5in MO, but doesn't specify the capacity. # I know there's a 640Mb disk, 230Mb disk, and more. The former, is this the Imation's (former 3M) SuperDisk? Not sure. > Anyone know how to access the JIS classifications? Is there a Web > site, or will I need to check the Engineering collections in the > library? I don't know if there's any web-site public, but I usually go to library when I need to refer to JIS. You may want to find the JIS-handbook, a simplified version of the actual JIS standard document. > The hardware and track format of the registration disk shall be one > of the following: BTW, I'm very interested in the original requirements. Was it in japanese? If so, how is this "shall" expressed? # "The system shall..." is the rule of thumb, in english, # for any requirements. I'm interested in how to express # this nuance in "natural" japanese. --- Kenichiro TANAKA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Nomikai: March 19 (Fri), 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 Next Technical Meeting: April 10 (Sat), 12:30 place: Temple Univ. ------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
