tlug: gcc option -rdynamic

Has anybody an idea what the option -rdynamic is supposed to
do when given to gcc when called for linking?  I didn't find
anything in the documentation.  The option is generated by
`gtk-config --libs' for GTK+ 1.2, but was not used by GTK+
1.0.
