Hi, I have got a weird thing right here. For some reasons, everytime I try to make new configurations, such as a new scsi dev, other settings keep going back to defaults(are there such stuff as defaults anyway). Well such as /dev/mouse disappears, ATAPI CD-ROM drive plays hide and seek. The network card switches to 3Com which I have never had in my Linux box. What is going on here? And this weird thing happens only with a particular machine. Orrrrr, do I have to re-check all other items again? My mind is scattered. Some clue please? BTW, this machine was given to me ages ago. My guess is the first owner set it on 3com and others and these were defaults.Buuuut, why do those items keep re-setting even though I never touch them? ___________________________________________________ _/_/_/_/FROM THE OFFICE OF YONG-MING HUA(YMH CAL LABORATORY)_/_/_/_/ _/e-mail: yhua@example.com _/ _/Office Tel:(Jpn)(0)42-739-8132 Fax:(Jpn)(0)42-739-8847 _/ _/A Word from YMH CAL LAB: Help those with Terminal Illness _/ _/They need your love. http://www.kelvin.lit.tamagawa.ac.jp _/ _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/Home Tel & Fax:(Jpn)(0)3-3485-0171 /_/_/_/_/_/_/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Nomikai: TBD Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 Next Technical Meeting: June 12 (Sat), 12 :30 place: Temple Univ. ------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
