I've tried the > DM line in sendmail.cf, but that didn't seem to help. Hmmm, I hate replying to my own mails, but if you are reading this I've solved this one. DM was of course the right thing, but I was just editing the header file manually. I suspect doing it with the m4 stuff would also uncomment out the envelope masquerading line in ruleset 94 that I needed to change too. Uncommenting that line and commenting out another line to turn off header masquerading gives me the effect I desire.
