tlug: SCSI drives vs. ATA

  Hi folks,

Sorry not to reply to the message itself, but it has been bothering
me for days that Jonathan Byrne claimed that SCSI drives were no match
for ATA.

I'm pretty impressed with what the ATA drives can do, but surely -
and even with a single drive installation - the latest 10,000 rpm
SCSI screamers (the ones that really have to be mounted in an active
drive cooler to survive) are a good bit faster than their best ATA
counterparts. Not to mention the fact that the CPU doesn't have to
give them any of its attention, which is pretty noticeable with any
CPU-intensive application running, even in a single-drive system.

Am I just misinformed about this?
