Hi, Don't have the exact thread name, however it is neccecary to use a specially modified kernel as Jonathan pointed out for older PC9801/9821 archs. There is a 2.2.x based kerenel along with a 2.1.x based one, and Plamo Linux has PC98 support (Kernel, packages, Installer, the whole speil). Linux is also supported on the newer PC98-NX desktops which are fully AT compatible (Although they do have a lot of custon s***). Hope this answers any questions that you may have. Austin K. Kurahone NOTE:NEC is not my favorate brand of hardware since the custom stuff they include usually ends up causing problems. (Sis Grpahic chipsets, winmodems, and other weirdness). ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: July 10 (Sat), 13:00 place: Temple Univ. *** Topic: High Performance JAVA, by Matt Welsh Next Nomikai: August 20 (Fri), 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 ------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
