Ok, here's the deal with Canna on RH6.0 1)I doubt that the RPMs that come with Vine will work with Redhat 6.0. (glibc version difference along with a bunch of other things.) 2)Compiling Canna from the source will produce binaries that are broken (some of the dictionary tools are messed, yet again glibc 2.1.x issues) If you really want to use canna with RH6.0, you can get binary RPMs from the following site: ftp://ftp.cdrom.co.jp/pub/rh60j_prebeta1/RPMS/ These are the RH6.0 Japanization kit from Laser5. AFAIK everything works OK, except for some strange reason netscape breaks because of a bug in glibc 2.1.1 causing it to hang up everytime you try to save a file. ALso the localisation is patchy at best, oh well. (For the record: These packages are about a month old, the current beta is much much better.) 3)If RPMs aren't your thing, I have patches that will fix canna, and also a SRPM for the Redhat6.0 canna package. Yours, Austin K. Kurahone <PLUG>I've just finished Green Frog Linux 0.3a (Foggles), I'm going to be uploading it some time tomorrow with a Japanese compatibillity kit (Kon, jvim, canna, and mutt with the Japanese patches <- Nothing else to localise) following within the next few days.</PLUG> ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Next Technical Meeting: August 14 (Sat), 13:00 place: Temple Univ. *** Special guest: Marc Christensen (Salt Lake Linux Users Group) Next Nomikai: September 20 (Fri), 19:30 Tengu TokyoEkiMae 03-3275-3691 ------------------------------------------------------------------- more info: http://www.tlug.gr.jp Sponsor: Global Online Japan
