Any suggestions on how Stephen> to catch such bugs? Turns out CVS 1.10 supports a non-remote mode that uses the remote protocol. Even nicer, you can set an environment variable that causes the child (quasi-server process) to sleep for a few seconds, so you can get the process ID and do `gdb src/cvs $PID' on it. Uninitialized local char*; the stack gomi contained 0x01 there, and applying strlen(3) to it generated SIGSEGV (of course!) baka-yarou! mrmble, grrrmble. -- University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences Tel/fax: +81 (298) 53-5091 _________________ _________________ _________________ _________________ What are those straight lines for?
