It sounds like exactly like what was needed. That said... Why does linux have to have its swap space initialised with mkswap before use? Most other unix just starts scribbling on the swap without concern for what's there already. It wouldn't be that big a deal (normally you only do it once) but it makes it a pain to dual-boot with another unix and share the same swap partition. -- Tod McQuillin
