God, that's horrible. That's a kludge, pure and simple. A proxy is nice, cheap
and fast. I'll put results up at http://the.earth.li/~simon/freekai as I 
finish them.

I like that idea, since it makes for a more generic solution. Ugh. Guess I 
have to learn about X programming now.
