Maybe on Cisco hardware, but I assure you that with a Linux-based router it can be done. Of course the whole point of my VPN is that those addresses don't leak out ever, so I don't violate any RFCs. And I don't run BIND or anything like that for my internal net, which would make things harder, it's only 5 hosts. But I sure as heck do route them, since one side is PPP and the other ethernet, with a host in the middle. I hate it when common carriers et al do this kind of thing. Obviously they are interpreting "private space" as internal to the ISP's space. I'm not sure what the purpose of that might be, but I have my suspicions.... This is exactly the same thing that Microsoft, Apple, and all the Japanese computer vendors do: fill up the private space in Unicode and other charset standards with their bloody corporate logos and special kanji and symbols :-( -- University of Tsukuba Tennodai 1-1-1 Tsukuba 305-8573 JAPAN Institute of Policy and Planning Sciences Tel/fax: +81 (298) 53-5091 _________________ _________________ _________________ _________________ What are those straight lines for?
