For kinput2, there are 2 other flags "freewnn" and "canna" to choose which (or both) of the Kanji engines to use with Kinput2. Make sure you "rc-update add canna default" or "rc-update add freewnn default" to start up the chosen kanji engine on boot if you haven't already. As noted earlier you will need "nls" support in glibc, I suggest that you add "nls" and "cjk" to USE in make.conf. Also you may want to emerge some true-type Japanese fonts - such as kochi-fonts. I've found that I prefer mlterm and rxvt over kterm, but that's just my personal preference. -- GnuPG KeyID 1607E7F7 Key fingerprint = 5C38 AA94 A4C1 6AAF 0EE4 C089 EE01 193D 1607 E7F7 gpg --keyserver search.keyserver.net --recv-keys 1607E7F7Attachment: pgp00052.pgp
