Howdy, I found out that OCN offers static IP addresses for its business class service and will eventually be switching to that. But in the meantime I tried the dyndns trick and things are working great. I also bothered to reread the settings on the ADSL modem and set it to bridging modem and drop its router capabilities so am stopping doing Double NAT (double ick). :-) Thanks for all the suggestions! Alain p.s. Looking into fiber however will have to wait until a little bit later :-( On Oct 27, 2003, at 9:57 PM, Godwin Stewart wrote: > Mon, 27 Oct 2003 21:28:14 +0900 scripsit Alain Hoang: > >> I find this practice understandable by ISPs but I really dislike >> ISPs >> that go out of their way to make it difficult (such as renewing IP >> leases often). > > You can still host stuff on your server with a dynamic IP.
