All I did was acknowledge that you have a different opinion, indicate
that I had considered it seriously, and present mine.  As you may have
noticed, I value people trying to understand _my_ words very highly.
I try to pay others the same respect, and I think it is worth showing
it when I do.

How would you suggest that I better express that idea?
