That's because it's, ahem, a little outdated. You're using a 3 year old mail client that has been updated several times. In February 2003, sylpheed-0.8.10 was the development branch of sylpheed-1.0. sylpheed-1.0 was released on December 24th 2004. Since then, development of the GTK+1.2 version has been halted and an official development branch of a GTK+2 version, sylpheed-1.9.0, was released a year ago. sylpheed-2.0.0-beta1 was released in June 2005, an rc in July, and the official GTK+2 version, sylpheed-2.0.0, in August. Right now I'm using 2.2.0beta5, released on Friday. If you'd rather stick with GTK+1.2 there's always http://sylpheed.good-day.net/sylpheed/v1.0/sylpheed-1.0.6.tar.bz2 -- G.
