If you are interested in the Asus EEE, you might like to read the
following about:

1) the "Warranty void if seal is broken or removed" sticker over the RAM
upgrade slot and a mini-PCI-Express slot

2) modules they have modified such (asus_acpi kernel module) 

3) the fact they are not distributing sources of their GPL'd code
